You Capture: Even More Autumn Stuff

I'm sharing some pics on another blog today.

YouCapture_300x150

The topic is autumn.  You know I'm all over that one.

In fact, I'm a little fanatical about fall, as you can see from this post.  And this post. And this post.

But I think God sends his finest handiwork our way this time of year.  Oh, the trees...

I'm so glad to live in a place that gets all the seasons.  Right now it's jacket weather.  Perfect for a long afternoons at the park with my boy.  (And my girl, too, but she was at home napping.)

Nate and I always stop by the little petting zoo at the park.

Today we learned that chickens have no survival skills. None.

Run into a corner when toddler chases you = bad move, chicken.  (I saved it.)

If I were a goat, I would totally climb to the top of the rock pile and chew whatever it is that goats chew.

Do they chew their cud?  It would be a lot easier to justify a $4 coffee if I could re-eat it a few times.

Nate likes to go up to the animals and make the sounds they make.

They look at him like, "Dude. I know what I say."

Anyway, I just love fall.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Great Time to be a Tiger

Scot and I are huge Missouri Tiger fans.  Huge.

A couple of months ago we got the chance to get tickets to the Homecoming game.  Even though we would be playing Oklahoma, a team sure to crush our Tigers, we decided to go. (I love my Tigers, but I'm realistic). We thought it would be fun to take the kids on campus, see our college buddies and just to get back to a game, win or lose. So we got tickets.

As the season progressed, we watched our Tigers win. And win.

Every game.

Oklahoma was winning, too.

So imagine our excitement last weekend when the Tigers took down Texas A&M.

We no longer had tickets to the game.  We had tickets to the game.  Our tigers were going in undefeated against #1 Oklahoma.

ESPN did College Gameday from the quad, and we got national coverage and the chance to break into the top 10.

I got a paparazzi-type picture of Erin Andrews.  I even popped out from behind a bush!

On Friday, we took the kids on campus and showed them around.

My mom came up and played and chased.  We had an awesome time.

We took the kiddos to see Greektown housedecks and watched the pep rally.  Brooke's new goal in life is to be a cheerleader.

On the way to the car we ran into none other than Truman the Tiger!  He's a big deal around here.

The next day we left the kids with Nina and Pop Pop and took off to the game.  We met up with some college friends, and awaited the start of the game.

I didn't take any pictures during the game because I was too busy being at the game.

We led Oklahoma through most of it.  The clocked ticked down.

Slowly, we began to realize that we might just win the game.

There was no final dramatic play, no crazy hail mary to take the win.  Just a slow energy over the crowd.  The seconds ticked by...

Time!!!  Mizzou wins 36-27!!  All 71,000 fans went crazy!!

The students tore onto the field and took down the goalposts!!  No one left (except maybe the OU fans).  We stood back and watched in amazement.

What can I say?  It's a great time to be a Tiger!

Fall, Baby!

This weekend we headed down to Grandma and Papa's and did all things autumn. It was room temperature outside.  Perfect.

We don't have big trees in our yard.  No trees, no leaves.

But Grandma and Papa do.

Grandma's azaleas are blooming...

Check out these puppies!

And then.  Off to the pumpkin patch! It's the place to be, you know.

Lift with your back, Nate.

Brooke told us she was going to pick a teeny tiny pumpkin.  And she did.

Snack time!

And then the corn maze...

...and sand.

A sweet fall weekend with Grandma and Papa.
