Bowling Fun and Pics

We went bowling for the first time!

After passing a nice little flu bug around the house for a week, we were finally all feeling better.  High time to rent some moist, pre-worn shoes, stick our fingers in germy bowling balls, and get the next infestation underway!

FUN!!

The kids loooooved it.  We all had a great time.  Even Eli had fun, I think.

I lost.  To everyone.  My 3-year-old beat me at bowling. I'm not competitive with this kind of thing, but that really hurt.

Not much else is going on around here. I'm still chugging away at my 365.  It's going okay.  We've been sick and haven't left the house much so I'm running out of things to photograph.  Here's a little of what I have so far...

365

This year I'm doing a 365 project. It's simple: one picture a day for a year. The idea is to capture more of daily life (as if I don't already do enough of that) and watch the kids as they grow. Plus, I get to take lots of pictures. And when I'm done, I'll have a collection of pictures that I plan to print in a book.  Or something.

I don't have a theme, anything goes.  Knowing me, I'm sure I'll miss days or give up altogether in a few months, but I'm going to give it a shot.  I won't put them all on my blog, but here's what I've got so far...

Hey, just 356 days left to go!

Christmas 2012

We had a good Christmas this year.

Well, that's not totally true.  We had a good Christmas considering everyone had the flu and Nathan doesn't yet understand the "barf bucket" concept.

Seriously.

Sorry. I'll spare you any more details, promise. But really, we had some great moments leading up to Christmas.  So let's just focus on that, shall we?

Eli Update

Eli is almost 10 months old now.  TEN months!

He is growing up too, too fast. Stop it!!!!

He's doing all the big baby stuff.  Like pulling up in his crib.

And eating.  Lots of eating.  He loves baby puffs.  He also loves peas, lasagna, eggs and sweet potatoes.

Likes: swinging at the park, getting teeth (7 and counting!), eating stuff off the carpet, army crawling, Brooke, reading books, playing ball, being tickled and splashing in the bathtub.

Dislikes: getting his nose wiped, riding in the car, staying up past 6:30, sleeping through the night, and holding still.  And he's on the fence about Santa.

As for me, I'm just enjoying and hoping this first year doesn't fly by too fast.

Stay little.  Okay?  :-)

O Christmas Tree

We got a real, live tree this year!

Scot aspires to be Clark Griswald, I think.  We couldn't just go to Lowe's and get a tree like everybody else.  We were going to cut down our own.

The kids were all business.

Then we found it.  Cutting it down was a 3-man job.

What did Eli do while Scot cut and I took pictures? Grazed on pine needles and practiced his baby yoga. We're really good parents like that.

So now we have a Christmas tree.

We also have 3 broken ornaments (and counting) and a broken advent calandar courtesy of curious little hands.

Ah, well. 'Tis the season.
